Thank you Governor Slugwell. I am not sure I completely agree with you. This CNN video clip is not fully representative how Nigerian Catholics think or believe. I think that Nigerians who have joined the Catholic church have joined for a variety of reasons just as Nigerians in the northern part of that country converted to Islam many centuries ago. I think the way the reporter scripted this segment made the faith of these people look less complex than what it really is. His quick narration had all kinds of European biases in it. Nigerian Catholics, like the country's Muslim population, are struggling to make sense of living in a difficult world of economic inequality and rapid social change. Their spirituality may be of help to them or it can be a hindrance to them. That is yet to be determined. We hope that the spiritual hope they find in the Catholic church will help them to make their country and their world more humane and politically just. What is important for the readers of theblackbottom.com to know is that Nigerian Catholics will soon play a dominant role in all of Catholicism and that we may be witnessing the last days of Catholicism being controlled by Europeans. Time will tell.

    This is absolutely devastating!
it disgust me to see that in the 21st century, WE allow them to still
mislead our people, indoctrinating, brainwashing and bleaching Africa white with false religion and handouts.
Taking advantage and exploiting the disadvantaged.
When Are WE gonna step up and do the right thing???
