Does anyone have any thoughts on how we can capitalize on this (the United Nations') "Year of People of African Descent" to get some of our poignant artists over to the continent?

  • Cbate2012,
I long ago tired of hearing about Afr Americans returning to Africa, I went and did such myself. Now I reside in both Chicago and Accra-area...no problem.  Didn't need Black intellectuals to go before me, as I am a thinker too. Black Africa is no real mystery all one has to do is go. A place like Ghana, allows one 2 months stay on one visa. You go renew down at the immigration office and get 2 or 3 more months. Afterwards, do the same once more and get another 3 or 4 months. Now, you know Africa, you are no long seen as just a tourist. Marry a Ghanaian inside the country and your stay is almost endless.  Otherwise, do both continents, summers in the US and winters in Ghana...no problem.
About the money to do so you asks? The internet is one of the greatest inventions on earth in this dimension. Apply the 'doing online business" side to it and "the world is your oyster".
Here is a way to make income off of local small businesses in the US by helping them enlarge their retail customer-base through online exposure...you then get paid and all helps them stay in business in a poor economy. A solution for plenty jobless in the US with the bonus of internationally living added(my personal view).
    Here, my pitch:

You need to check out this fantastic new website.
    I'm already a member:

http://www.tworkz.com/ref/0eNh... Merely one way the brothers can get off the corners selling death to our people. I know other ways too online but the above one is FREE for US born to join.

Many like intellectual discussions, nice, but we need those whom now will do the work.

    Thank you,

    Torgbui
